It's all about the poop

I've been trying to get my daughter Aly potty trained for almost 6 months. It's been a stressful journey but I think I finally made some progress.

Here's some tips for those who are also trying to get their toddler potty trained in time for pre-school.

-stay consistent in the routine - your child needs for you to guide them
-firmly follow through - just "trying" should be the goal
-help your child with their clothing for toileting and stay away from onesies and clothes that require buckets for a while
-2-3 year age is when children are most ready to learn how to control their bladder
-most childern need to be taken to the toilet and will rarely initiate
-some kids may pee but will want a diaper for #2
-most important tip of all, if you are moving, having a new baby which was in my case, or traveling, do not attempt to start the potty training. I made this mistake when we traveled to Mexico and Aly regressed. When we came home, she had no interest in the toilet whatsoever.

Good luck and say goodbye to those diapers!

Big Sis Aly

After 4 months, I feel that Aly has finally accepted her little baby brother. She no longer threatens to hit him but instead she showers him with kisses.
